What medical experts are saying about Qigong
“If you want to be healthy and live to 100, do Qigong.”
“Spring Forest Qigong has developed an easy-to-follow program that will allow you to incorporate the health benefits of Qigong into your daily life.”
The Benefits of Qigong
The ancient practice of Qigong promotes a holistic approach to health, using simple exercises, meditations, martial arts and other techniques to improve and encourage the flow of energy — known as Qi — through the body. Qigong is often thought of as a spiritual practice, but while its roots are embedded in ancient Chinese culture and religion, Qigong is something that can benefit everyone, something that has a long list of health benefits. And not only can Qigong health physical ailments, but it can also be used to rid you of any mental distress, and even to help you heal others.
Qigong can be practiced by everyone. The movements are not complex and do not require a great deal of physical strength. Yet, at the same time, they are capable of triggering great changes in the body. Qigong is an important ritual in the lives of millions, and it is performed by everyone from athletes to the disabled, offering a range of physical benefits regardless of your size, shape or condition.
Qigong is all about energy and how it flows through your body. Once you learn to control this, then you can unlock the potential within you. In the words of Master Chunyi Lin, a renowned Qigong expert and the founder of the Spring Forest Qigong Center, “The moment a person chooses to move their own energy, they awaken the healer within them. Every cell in your body is energy. You are an energy being and you can transform your own energy.”
Master Lin has taught hundreds of thousands of students how to heal their physical energies, and how to use meditation, exercises, fasting and more to cure physical ailments such as:
- Gall and Kidney Stones
- Thyroid Problems
- Blood Problems
It doesn’t end there either. If you restore some balance to your body and regulate the flow of energy, then there is no end to the health improvements you can experience in your physical self.
The body is connected by a number of meridians, which are lines through which your energy flows. This covers every organ, from the heart to the brain, and it means that a restoration of balance in your body’s energy (or “Qi”) will cure your physical ailments as well as your mental ones.
Meditation plays a big role in curing mental health issues, as it does in all Qigong practices. But it goes beyond simple breathing techniques and exercises. Fasting is also important when it comes to reducing stress, eliminating depression and curing other health issues. There are other techniques as well, and each Qigong Master has their own way of approaching things.
Master Lin, for instance, created a technique known as Qi-ssage, which helps you from head-to-toe and is explained via an easy-to-follow package available on the Spring Forest Qigong Center website.
Qigong Masters are often as invested in the health of others as they are in their own health. Once you learn the fundamentals of this practice you often feel the need to tell everyone about it, to spread the good word and to help others feel as great as you do. But some Qigong techniques, such as those provided by the Spring Forest Qigong Center, offer courses that can teach you how to help others directly.
This applies whether you are helping someone in the same room or many miles away, and there are also group healing courses available at the center. Group healing and distance healing is restricted to advanced students and this is not something you will learn immediately, but if you’re prepared to take your time, to learn the basics and to go on from there, you can reap the benefits of this empowering practice.
You can practice Qigong yourself, but there are many different techniques and exercises out there, and it’s best to stick to one course, preferably under the guidance of an expert.
Whether you want to take your first steps with Qigong or you’re looking to learn some more advanced techniques, the Spring Forest Qigong Center can help. They provide extensive home-study courses and retreats, all of which are broken up into several different levels, allowing you to learn at your own pace and to your current ability. They provide you with the guides, the tutorials and the advice you need to apply physical and mental healing techniques to yourself and others, and they can even help you to become a Qigong master.
